This sunny eighteenth-century country estate is located at the heart of baroque Sicily, and recently expertly renovated. It is surrounded by the typical local carob plants, fields of grain, ancient olive, citrus and almond trees and wonderfully scented jasmine. The Sicilian estate with Arab influences consists of a residential building (350 sq.m) and an adjacent watchtower (100 sq.m). The residential rooms are very spacious, decorated in very comfortable country house style. Exposed ceiling beams, delightful majolica tiles from Caltagirone, an imposing fireplace in the spacious living room (140 sq.m) with a gallery (equipped with music center and TV), wrought-iron beds and warm terracotta tones in tiles, materials and pictures emphasise the tasteful rustic character of this charming refuge

The estate protects its guests’ privacy through its hidden location. It offers two swimming pools, both situated in the sheltered and stylishly furnished Mediterranean courtyard. The larger pool is equipped with water massage jets and surrounded by a wooden terrace with a show, toilet and changing booths. Guests who prefer the beach can drive to the clear blue sea at Vendicari, 16 km away; and those who prefer a leisurely stroll are best off in the wealthy town of Modica – baroque world cultural heritage – situated on a hill in the southwest of the island with its own train link (8 km away). The town dates back to various colonisation attempts by the Greeks, Romans, Byzantines, Normans and Arabs. There is plenty to discover here and in the surrounding area, be it the countryside with its wild ravines, the imposing baroque architecture, the church of San Giorgio with its 250 steps or the many traditional local festivals in spring and summer.
