In the USVI, there are dozens of incredible restaurants, but if you’re looking for a guaranteed great meal, our expert recommends these 4 spots.

Of all the restaurants she has tried, these are the places that she recommends most often to first-time travelers.
Keep in mind that this is just a taste of what’s available on the two main restaurant hubs, St. John and St. Thomas; the USVI dining scene is eclectic, and we urge you to venture out of your comfort zone. But if you’re looking for a guaranteed great meal, these establishments won’t let you down.
(1) Morgan’s Mango in Cruz Bay, St. John
This locals’ favorite serves up fresh seafood in a comfortable open-air seaside setting. The atmosphere is quaint and welcoming, with occasional live music and a lively bar. A kitchen fire during the summer of 2015 temporarily closed the restaurant for a few months, but owners are confident that renovations will be swift and the new Morgan’s Mango will be better than ever.
(2) La Tapa in Cruz Bay, St. John
Another Cruz Bay favorite is La Tapa, a Mediterranean restaurant that serves up small plates and larger entrées with a Caribbean touch. The ambiance is cozy and charming, with indoor and outdoor seating. Visit on a Tuesday evening for Jazz Night, when you can dine alongside a live band.
(3) Skinny Legs in Coral Bay, St. John
Skinny Legs’ tagline, “A Pretty OK place,” is an understatement – this laid-back restaurant and bar has been around for more than two decades, and their burgers are widely recognized as the best on the island. Skinny Legs includes an attached shopping area and a backyard for hula hooping or games of horseshoe.
(4) The Grille at Mahogany Run, St. Thomas
Located on the beautiful Mahogany Run Golf Course, The Grille is a great choice for golfers and non-golfers alike. The food is consistently excellent, service is attentive, and the menu offers something for every palate. Stop in for drinks, lunch, dinner, or Sunday brunch.
