The well-appointed rooms of Tranquillity stretch over 6,300 square feet of rich marble floors. Artful landscaping ensures year-round flowers in bloom, which in turn ensures regular visits from hummingbirds and parrots.

The entrance draws you past an indoor waterfall garden as you approach the spacious Great Room, which opens to an 86' furnished verandah. Meals are served by the butler on the verandah overlooking two acres of landscaped grounds and the waterfront ~ or served in the inside formal dining room ~ or, as a special treat, served in the romantic waterfront gazebo by candlelight. On calm nights, two or three local fishermen may ease through the water beyond the gazebo carrying torches and laying nets for the fresh catch they will deliver to your chef the next morning.

Two large master suites are privately located in a wing on the east end of the villa. Two smaller bedrooms are beyond the living room on the west end of the villa. The fifth, sixth & seventh bedrooms are in the Beach Cottage across the lawn on the water’s edge. All bedrooms are air-conditioned. The modern kitchen in the main house includes a 6-burner Vulcan gas stove, microwave, and double fridge with an ice maker.

Meals here merit special attention. Chef Danny has extensive experience in several cuisines, including Italian, Spanish, and Jamaican. He received his formal training in Italy and has been Head Chef at several of Montego Bay's restaurants. Danny's experience and creativity, as well as his willingness to create menus to suit special requests, make the culinary part of everyone’s stay at Tranquillity something to savor. A formal herb garden is steps from the kitchen and provides the Chef with fresh herbs and vegetables for your meals.

Tranquillity shares a basketball hoop and private tennis court with neighboring Serenity by the Sea (bring racquets and balls). Combining Serenity by the Sea and Tranquillity creates an 11-bedroom compound with 2 pools, a tennis court, a long beachfront, and a staff of 10. This waterfront compound is a favorite for family reunions. Both villas are child-friendly and very private from each other.

Paddle boards and sea kayaks are among the complimentary water sports available. 100 yards offshore is Holden's Reef, a continuation of the barrier reef complex that fronts much of Jamaica's north coast. Easily reachable by kayak, this live reef is home to a myriad of tropical fish and corals. At low tide, portions protrude above the water so you can step from your kayak to snorkel in shallow water. On the ocean side, deeper waters beckon the more adventurous or scuba-equipped.

If you’ve left your pets behind, be advised that Tranquillity is home to a friendly dog named Gus. He is not permitted in the house or on the verandah; his accommodations are an on-site kennel area. But Gus does spend days in the yard and on the beach, and the staff cares for him. He is gentle, well-behaved, and loves guests if you want to interact with him.

Accommodations

Master Bedroom 1
King-size 4-poster bed.  Flat-screen cable television.  4 pairs of mahogany French doors to the verandah. The modern en-suite bathroom features a handsome gray and tan tile open shower with twin rainforest shower jets.  Just steps from the pool.

Master Bedroom 2
King-size bed in a high-ceilinged 400-square-foot suite with flat-screen cable television. The en-suite bathroom has a bathtub plus a separate walk-in shower. French doors open to a private furnished verandah.  3 steps down and path to the pool, gazebo, and beach.

Bedroom 3
Optional king-size or twin beds.  en-suite bathroom with double vanity, walk-in shower, and a wonderful second, very private shower in the outdoor walled garden. French doors open from the bedroom to the verandah.

Bedroom 4
King-size bed, en-suite bathroom with walk-in shower. French doors to private patio, grounds, and tennis court.

Beach Cottage
Bedrooms 5 & 6
Designed as the owners’ private quarters, this is an exquisite 2-story cottage right next to the sea. Downstairs is the living room with cable television, VCR, and sound system, a small extra bedroom with a queen-size bed, a hall bathroom, and a walk-in shower. Upstairs are the king-size bedroom, an over-the-beach balcony with loungers for sunning or stargazing, and a large en-suite marble bath with an oversized walk-in shower.

Bedroom 7

Bedroom 7 with bunk beds for 2 children. The bedroom is upstairs with an entrance from the master bedroom, which shares the master bathroom. This will provide another convenient parent-child suite. This bedroom is not suitable for anyone over 12 years old

Please note: Tranquillity is located on a stretch of waterfront; however, the beach may encounter increased seaweed or reduced water clarity during the rainy seasons in May and October, as well as due to fluctuating ocean currents and weather patterns.

The homeowner of Tranquillity does not permit weddings or any other hospitality events.
