The 200’ beach ranges in width from the sea wall to surf from 15’ in high tide to 30’ in low tide, varying with weather patterns.  For joggers or strollers, the extended beach length is approximately 1,000 feet.  The uninterrupted view extends all the way to the horizon, punctuated a few times each week by tall white cruise ships drifting silently across your view toward the harbor. 

Canoe Cove encourages a relaxed, unfussy vacation with an abundance of sporty options balanced with as much pure relaxation as anyone could want.  The location is amazing. The service is excellent. The villa itself is stylish without pretense or overstatement, uncluttered, and totally livable.  Inside, textures of exotic woods establish a grounded, organic ambiance as a backdrop against stylish furnishings.  Cedar, Jojoba, Honduran pine, marble, coral stone, and natural cement floors are cool under bare feet.  Finishes of reclaimed teak and driftwood echo the Caribbean venue.  Decorating a hallway is a whimsical 6’ pendant lamp made entirely of old magazines and looking remarkably like bark.  Across the lawn, supporting structures of the gazebo are purloined telephone poles with bamboo-clad bases.  Delicate orchids cultivated on-site contrast with other natural materials and adorn most rooms.

For tennis buffs who want to bring their own pro from home, on-site sleeping accommodations can be arranged, and the villa staff will look after this guest.  Nannies from home may sleep in the child’s room.

2 Queen-size beds with an en-suite bathroom with a small walk-in shower. This bedroom is ideal for children as it is adjacent to bedroom 1, also suitable for adults, with no patio or balcony. All bedrooms have a SmartTV.

Combining bedrooms 1, 2, and 7 creates a convenient family suite, with each bedroom door being a few steps from the next.

Child Friendly
The swimming pool has a shallow entry for toddlers, a man-made sandbox big enough for everyone, a nearby outdoor shower, and a grassy yard for lawn games.  Kayak life jackets come small-medium-large.

Groceries can be ordered, delivered, and paid for via a credit card from the local grocery store. Alternatively, guests can shop at the local grocery store near the villa using their credit card or cash.

Canoe Cove does not accept any outside guests during the day or evening or for any meals. 

The homeowner of Canoe Cove does not permit outside guests, weddings, or any other hospitality event. All outside vendors must be approved in advance of the rental by the homeowner.

• Sailing, fishing, and private boat excursion charters for various fees can be arranged by your staff
• Restaurants – recommend Sans Souci (upscale, excellent, 14 min); Scotchie’s (rustic casual, best jerk joint, 4 minutes) … if you ever wish to forsake the Canoe Cove chef a time or two.

Old Fort Bay is on the western perimeter of Ocho Rios.  Drive time from the Montego Bay Sangster International Airport is approximately 90 minutes on the new North Coast highway.
