Simonetta Tuscany

Villa Simonetta was built in 1800 and has been just recently very tastefully restored by its owners.

From the classic detailed exteriors to the romantic elegant interiors, Villa Simonetta exudes comfort and sophistication. From here you can reach Florence by bus (bus stop is few hundred yards from the villa), or by train – Calenzano train station is very well connected with Florence.

This two-story villa boasts spacious, light-filled rooms, many original details including beautiful antiques, hardwood floors, high ceilings, and an open-well central staircase. The private swimming pool, set in the villa's lush enclosed garden, is an ideal antidote against the summer heat.

You will be totally enchanted by Villa Simonetta, not only for its elegant style and easy comfort, but also for its location, perfect for day trips!

Ground Floor

Every elegant room of Villa Simonetta has an individual character and charm. The chic open-plan living room features two fireplaces, several tastefully upholstered sofas where to relax, read, watch TV, or hold a pleasant conversation among friends. A generous dining table that comfortably sits up to 10 guests is provided in the adjacent space. The morning sun is dominant in these east-facing rooms thanks to four large windows that let the natural light in. There is a separate reading room with large screen TV. A fully equipped kitchen, the laundry room with washer and dryer, a guest bathroom complete this floor.

Outside Features

The portico hosts a dining table for friends and family to gather for breakfast or for meals al fresco and it shades the seating area from the hot Tuscan sun. A comfortable lounge area is set among 4,000 sqm of private park, surrounded by a privacy fence of shrubbery, perfect for shady relaxing time or for sipping a glass of bubbly prosecco wine. Another lounge area is available near the private swimming pool and it sets the tone for relaxation and sunbathing in style.

We had a fabulous visit at Villa Simonetta! The pictures are very accurate, and the grounds are lovely. There were lots of beautiful fruit trees, fountains and fresh herbs growing everywhere. The location was also perfect. We were two families travelign together and didn't want to be inside the city of Florence with four kids, who loved being able to swim in the pool day and night. Yes, we were close enough to get to Florence easily on several of the days, and only about a one-hour drive to lots of other places, including Lucca (whihc was incredible), Piza (we went at night and recommend that ;), San Gimignano, and more. The kitchen was very well-equipped and the villa seemed huge. All nine of us could have been in separate parts of the house or hang together anytime. There's also a cute school across the street that turns into a neighborhood hangout at night where you could buy beers, ice cream and snacks. The local COOP market is a short walk, and tons of delicious local food for us to enjoy and cook in the kitchen when we chose to.

We had a wonderful week in Tuscany. Your villa was amazing, but what truly made it special was your warmth and generosity. Thanks once again for all the help, advise, and being patient with all my myriad requests. We look forward to seeing you again soon here in Tuscany or in Delhi (or Goa)? Please keep in touch and stay well!

Had the pleasure of spending the week at Simonetta. Sits in the middle of quaint town, Calanzano, approximately 20 minutes or so outside of Florence. Easy location to hop on and off of highways. Also public transportation in and out of Florence is available within walking distance of Villa. The home is beautiful, well appointed with antiques, bedrooms are roomy with upscale linens. Formal rooms downstairs, comfortable dining area. Outside patio is a great spot to start the day with a cup of coffee. Rolando, the owner and host of this, his childhood residence was an absolute delight. He went out of his way to make us comfortable.
